Equivalence and Conversion of Marks

According to a notification issued by the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen, Islamabad, a decision has been taken, which will take effect from the academic year 2004, that number of subjects for conversion of marks are eight, the compulsory subjects being Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, Urdu, English and Mathematics and elective subjects being any three in Science and Humanities groups.

Thus it is requested that parents do not allow your child to appear for any private examinations, as it will lead to a lesser number of subjects on the final certificate. Also take note that no less than seven subjects will be registered for through the school for the GCE O Level examination. Private examinations also take up time from the subjects taught in school, causing deterioration in their results and this should be discouraged.
Observations from Institutions of Higher Studies

From feedback given to us about our students who leave to join reputable institutions of higher learning in Pakistan, we have learnt that they need students who have the ability to express themselves and analyze and not the ones who embark on early specialization with limited breadth. They welcome students who have a well-rounded education and who have a knowledge and understanding of subjects like history, geography, literature and current affairs. Also, a study of Mathematics and the ability to express oneself in good written and spoken English is essential so in this essential subjects ZEA allows normal chitralian child to be more educated than other institution arround the area.
